Partnerships & Collaborations

Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, WCET extends its limited resources to better serve its members. During the past year, WCET entered into several relationships of significant interest to its members:

• AdjunctMatch was created in collaboration with Joe Pensa from Adjunctopia. Phil Clark from Business Planning for NPD helped create the business plan for the project, and Bruce Antley from Dow, Lohnes and Albertson provided the user and privacy agreements.

• Darlene Burnett of Burnett and Associates continues to participate in the student service audits and workshops.

• At the 2004 annual conference, many corporate members lent their support, including Macromedia, Sungard SCT, eCollege, IBM, Elluminate, PBS, Smarthinking, and WebCT. Many institutions also offered support by lending LCD projectors: Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, California State University at San Bernadino, Auraria Media Center, University of Texas System, Dallas TeleLearning, and the University of Wyoming

• During the fall of 2004, WCET partnered with the TLT Group to create a series of webcasts on applying activity-based costing to analyses of educational technologies. The first webcast also included the National Association of College and University Business Officers and focused on the policy issues of costing studies.

• EduTools partnered with the Monterey Institute for Technology and Education and WICHE’s Western Consortium for Accelerated Learning Opportunities to further develop the reviews on online courses.

• Thomas L. Russell, emeritus, North Carolina State University has agreed to partner with WCET to host his “No Significant Difference” web site, which houses abstracts of research projects on educational technologies.

• WCET’s EduTools is forging a joint agreement with the E-Portfolio Action Committee to seek partner institutions and state agencies that are interested in funding research on e-portfolio software.
